Hey. I'm going to talk about my time in Corban.
We had a great week at the university, but today I'm going to talk about a special family we know, that we saw in Oregon. This is a great family...the Estañol family. Charlie has been a friend of my Dad since a long time ago. He entered the army and we hadn't seen him for like 10 years. When we saw him he had a wife and a family. Three kids. Micah (5) Jeremiah (3) Elisha (1). They where really nice kids. And his wife´s name is Jennifer. They are a really nice family. They took us to the beach there in Oregon. It was a really cold day and it was raining but we had a good time. After that we got hot chocolate and had a good conversation in the way home. They are a really nice family.
Here I have some pics of the beach.
Hi! My name is Daniel Fry, I was born in Mexico. I recently just moved to the U.S. a couple months ago. I play Football for the E-Town Bears, I'm a Junior. I want to start writing this blog again because I see a lot of different things in this "American Culture" that me as a young guy has experienced.

Teaching English
Hey. Today I'm going to talk about teaching English. I went with my friend to his mom´s school. She is a teacher there. And when I was there the English teacher came to teach and my friend asked her if I could teach English. So I didn't really know what to teach them. I didn't know what they have been studying. So I asked the teacher and she gave me a lot of materials I could use.
So first of all I thought I wouldn't be able but after teaching for 10 minutes I started liking it. I taught 3rd and 6th graders. Each class was like 1 hour. I really liked teaching those kids. I was impressed of their pronunciation. They where really good for Mexican school students.

My History Playing Football
My History Playing Football
Football is a really fun sport that I thought
that I wouldn’t find in Mexico. One
of my favorite parts is when the quarterback says "hut". It is the
best part because you are all ready to start the play.
I really like
football. I started when one of my neighbors asked me if I wanted to play
football. So I asked him, "Is there
a football team near here?" He said,
"like 10 minutes from here." I told my dad and bought my equipment. So I started
training. I began to like it more and
more. Sometimes I got beat up by the other kids because I still didn’t know a
lot about football.
One day I told the coach I wanted to try QB. So
I tried the position. I liked it, and I thought I was pretty good throwing. The
coaches liked me being QB. But I didn’t know the plays so the coaches told me I
could be wide receiver. I liked that position, but I really preferred QB better. Nevertheless, I started training as receiver. I caught
pretty well. Then
I liked playing the line so I decided to be a lineman till they told me I was too small. So then I didn’t
really know what I was going to play.
Then like a month
later and after a lot of training and exercise, I started playing QB again. I was pretty good
but the coaches didn’t know my age. I was playing with the older kids as QB.
The coaches thought it was ok that I played with older kids. Then the head
coach let me decide if I wanted to play with the older guys as substitute QB or
to play with my age as fullback and linebacker. So I decided play with the guys
my age. Then just yesterday, May 27, I
went to our inauguration of our league. There was a lot of people in the football
field, it was fun. I really like it. We walked with a lot of other really good
teams. We appeared on TV, well, a special channel and online. I felt like a star.
Well that’s about it
for my football career I have been playing for about half a year. So I will be
playing as a fullback and linebacker .I really like those positions and I
really want to win the championship. And I will like to play all my life.

Volcano
Today I'm going to talk about the volcano Popocatepetl. Wierd word. This volcano has been throwing ash all over the area. We are really close to that volcano. We are getting all the ash and its hard to breathe mostly when you run. The government said that it wasn't going to explode but we still have to be cautious. Everything is gray you can't see the volcano. Well sometimes you can it from our house, and its a really pretty view.

I have been playing as wide receiver and defensive lineman. But Tuesday the coach told me to be quarterback. I really like being QB. But is really hard.

Cross-cultural Servanthood
Hey! Today I read the book Cross-Cultural Servanthood. I really liked it. It talks a lot about the different cultures and what they think. It gives really good examples. Like in South Africa they spit on you as a sign of blessing, as it is a symbol for rain, and rain is a good thing. A lot of weird things. I recommend that book if your an MK, a missionary etc.

Football plays
Hey. Yesterday my Dad made me make my football plays. Well, not make them but copy them, so I could memorize them. It was fun and interesting. Today I'm going to color it and make it into a play book. I really enjoy football, but I thought that I wouldn't be able to train here in Mexico, but I was wrong.
Here I have some pics.

Scrimmage
Yesterday was my first football game. We played against The Gladiators. They are a strong team, but this game they was pretty easy. I opened as a wide receiver and cornerback so I'm the official receiver. It was fun but really hot. My brother and me won. He played before me. I sprained my ankle a little bit.
Here I have some pics.

There was a big party at are house with some of the church people but everyone went for the Giants so I had to go to my friends house. Tiffany made some really good cookies. Then when the Super Bowl ended we celebrated a birthday with a good cake. It was a good time. My friend's dad asked me what we celebrated here in mexico and I obviously answered the Super Bowl, but its the anniversary of the Mexican constitution, but nobody knows that.

tianguis
Hey, today I'm going to talk about the tianguis (Market) here in Mexico. Today I went with one of my friends called Jerry, we went in combi (public transportation). It was a 45 minute trip, well the combi we where in was pirate it didn't have papers so we didn't pay him. Then we took the metro.
We finally got there. It was the biggest and ugliest tianguis (market) I have ever seen. They sell a lot of stolen stuff. It is a big mafia. My friend and I went there to buy a football jersey. It cost me 50 pesos. All this to get stuff cheaper. In original stores it costs 300 hundred pesos. I couldn't take pictures because my cell phone would of got stolen

My fish
Hey today I'm going to talk about my fish tank. We have a frog, a turtle, a pretty big catfish, a big pleco and other fish species. It's really fun to have them but a big responsibility because if one dies in contaminates the other fish and they all die so we have to put salt like every month and clean it. But if the light goes you have to put water in filter its fun to have them.
Here I have some pics. Hey I put this picture of the virgin Mary with a demonic face skull

Wise men
Here in Mexico we celebrate the three kings. It's a tradition. Tomorrow we all get gifts, well, all the kids. It's really fun. Sometimes there are people selling balloons because you would wait till tonight, write a card, tie it to the balloon and then let it fly. And that's how you get your gifts, you don't always get what you wanted but is a fun holiday for kids, not for parents.
